Hi all,
I'm a new member living in the Swansea area, come back to CB having left as most did in the late 80's. I've had my rig set up on the car for a week or so with SWR set to 1.2 ch1/1.4 ch40. I've been scanning all the channels and trying to get a radio check on ch14/19 but had no reply, until this afternoon I was reported as loud and clear by someone about 4miles away so at least I know the rig is working. .

Hello Arwyn,
I'm glad you've started making some contacts, the first of many I hope. Wales is generally pretty active so you shouldn't have many problems finding someone to chat to.
I hope you don't mind I popped your post in here and retitled it because you already made an introduction previously and I thought you're more likely to get responses about your contacts here.

Hi Arwyn,
what an awesome result! What antenna are you using on your car? I've also been driving around with a rig in the car for the past week. Also not that many operators about but I'm not giving up. In fact, I've ordered a bigger antenna and a better rig, hoping that will get me out better. I can hear people but they can't hear me.

Hi Arwyn,
Nice to hear from you. Those CRT rigs are awesome. I've got the cousin of the CRT Millenium, the Team Minicom. It's a fantastic rig, really nice build quality and sounds great. I'm in a bit of a built up area so think I'm going to need to go bigger on the antenna side... Got some great contacts today on 11m by the way.
