Call sign motophysco not new to radio's just got a crt mini and mag mount with Springer antenna all seems ok swr is below 1.4 but I don't seem to be able to get out any ideas the crt mini is brand new so is the antenna or is it I'm out of range of other users as I'm mobile cheers for any input

Hi Motophysco (sorry no personal), welcome to the CTDX group. Sorry can't answer your question as have no idea where in the UK you are, your swr is usable so no issues there.

Hello Motophysco welcome to the forum,

The CRT mini is putting out the same four watts of RF as any other C.B. radio so my guess is there is no one in range of you when you have been on.

Is the springer one of the small ones available if so I suspect that's probably the problem. I would recommend nothing much under a full quarter wave, something like a Sirio 4000 or Wilson 1000 or similar.
