Call Sign/Handle?

I've just bought a rig set up about 15 minutes ago (Arrives 9th Nov )

But how do call signs work for a standard 40 Channel CB?

Is it still just a handle like it was in the 80's or do I need a coded sign like the SSB guys have????

Again, sorry if its a bit of a noob question. But things seem to have changed.

Up to you how you go about it. 

CB users are few and far between compared to the old days but some still use handles, most just use their names but it's completely free to get a coveted Charlie Tango callsign.....nudge, nudge, wink, wink

If you'd like a CT callsign just pop a posting in the 'New Members Introductions' asking for one and make sure you put your name in your profile. The admin here will handle the rest.

I use a handle on the UK40

My CTcallsign on side band and people who recognise my voice just shout out for John. 

Works here in my area anyway.
