Hi John,

You'll have to go to the section on the Ofcom website to apply or manage your licence. From there you can apply for your Amateur licence, (it'll be amongst other stuff such as the maritime licence etc.)

I can't remember specific details, (was too excited at the time!), but take a look at Essex Hams site here :-

Essex Ham - Apply for your Foundation Licence

That should give you the basic idea Wink

Don't worry, I didn't find the Ofcom site that easy to navigate either!

When you get to the licencing section you can enter a three letter combination for your callsign and see if it's available, my first choice wasn't but the second was. You can also have Ofcom automatically assign a callsign but where's the fun it that Very Happy

Let us know how you get on.

All the best,
Victor

Hello Victor, thanks for your reply, i have checked the ofcom website and my licence application is "In Progress", i possibly have to wait for ofcom to update my details? i`ll keep checking for any progress and keep you informed.

all the best

John

Woohoo!! Very Happy Nice one John!

M7COO - can't forget that callsign in a hurry! Smile

Did forget to mention that sometimes there is a delay before Ofcom are updated from the RSGB, I was just lucky that it happened so fast. (Although my postie arrives early afternoon most days!)

Well chuffed for you John and that's a great callsign which I will add to my list.

See you on the bands mate!

All the best,
Victor
