DoH! Wondered why I couldn't log in with my old credentials - lesson learned - READ THE EMAIL PROPERLY..
Well I'm back on board.
Dusted off all my kit, and although nothing really happening, caught the bug again.
I was going to build a goto box with for my Grant II  - but thought again, and in a moment of "buy something new" - I invested in an Albrecht AE2990 with a HyFlex 54 antenna...
I'll be taking it out with me when I walk the hound...
While digging around in my man cave - I found a Baofeng UV5R+ that I purchased a few years ago (and forgot about) - another hour or so searching for the prog lead - I swiftly installed chirp and loaded up 16 446 channels.
I'm surrounded (on three sides) with coastline, and inland some decent high ground. Lets see what that produces.
I will post some pics when I suss out how and will keep you updated.

It might be worth loading the Marine Band frequencies as well. It'll give you something else to listen to when the PMR goes quiet (as it often does)
