| Hi all my frist time really dxing in the last few weeks and just getting the hang of it, got a few contacts here and there as I'm still learning, I'm quite surprised at the reactions from the contacts when I mention the dv27 and ham multimode 2 giving great signals | |

Yer, the DV27 is quite a surprising old work horse. Got my first one in 1982 with a ground plane kit and that got out amazingly well! I was limited to CB activities during my early teens to the garden shed. Dad stuck a 10ft pole attached to the side of it with the DV on top. Great antenna when tuned properly from my experience. I was only on FM and my QTH Chistlehurst, I got the Isle of sheppey absolutely no problem about 30 miles away! Keep it up Daragh! The more you pick up, the more fascinating the hobby is, have as peek at Fred In The Shed's YouTube Channel, a plethora of great info | |
