Subject: Old CB'er returning to the CB world. Mon May 04, 2020 11:51 pm
Hi All
Returning back to CB (11 meters). I started back on CB in August 2019, prior to that I used to be on the Auntie Mary (AM) back in 1979 and started on legal CB (FM) on day One when 27/81 was legalised in 1981. Stayed with CB until the late 1980's and packed up and sold most of my CB gear (a considerable amount of gear !). 2 House moves later and its 2019, (some 30+ years later) went up in the loft to search for something and came across a box with a few CB 'twigs' in, a couple of PSU's and a Uniden 100 and some RG58 coax. The 'twigs' were an AK47 base loaded coil mobile antenna, a Half Breed base loaded coil whip antenna and a DV27.
That was the start of my return to CB radio, I bought a Sirio Boomerang A for homebase use (later to be replaced by a Sirio GPE 5/8 wave) and a Thunderpole T800 80 channel rig along with a TTI 881 80 channel rig. A s/h Uniden 200 arrived to be the mobile rig for DX'ing.
Passed my Ham Radio Foundation Licence in Jan 2020 . I'm now active on 70cms, 2m, 6m, 10m using the Yaesu FT8900R and the Superstar 6900 on 10m SSB and 11m (CB).
Thats all for now. Oh I'm in the Telford area.
ADMIN, can I have a CT callsign please or pretty please
