Lockdown net informal net on 80m ...

With all the current situation I wonder if anyone would be interested who is licenced of course and who is not can SWL on hackgreen on 80m ?

Why 80m you ask ? Think it's best chance hearing most stations around the uk and even into Europe while many have 11m at home but does not have ears .

Not intending to be a typical net just a laid back informal net or group gathering

I often listen on 80m just to find such jewels and weirdly nowadays normal "conversation" is lacking between Hams. You get bored of the old "5/9 number XXX 73 QRZ" competition nonsense, or the geriatrics playing top-trumps with their medical ailments

Cheers Victor , I'm fortunate to have s4 at worst when the band not noisey or static crashes as 160 , 80 and sometimes on 40m can be effected alot by static crashes which stormy weather .

I went back to a few stations last night in 40 and 20m just to see if was getting out and you guessed it " 2EOFGX your 59 over " me - thanks for the contact you are also 5-9 into south uk , back to you. " qrz"

I rather not have a contact like that if that's the case ... just have to listen as see how the individual is working may be not good english .

Much appreciated for the Hackgreen mention, I'd not had much luck with webSDR but theirs is a little cracker! Spent the last hour or so playing around with it and got it running on my android tablet and even my android phone - flipping handy
Was nice to make a comparison between it and my old analogue setup, seems my old FT757 and bits of wire antenna do a smashing job. Got to admit though, much nicer twiddling knobs and listening intently through a big extension speaker.

This is my bases station rig which isnt widenanded but that may change if hear much at home on 11 as it's pretty deaf at home . Prefer older rigs to a point .

Plus as you get more deaf with age, analogue sounds better on the ears. I'm afraid that modern DSP sounds like Metal-Mickey with his head stuck in a bucket of water....in an echoey bathroom....with the taps running....Ha! To me anyway
(Oh flip, you're probably not old enough to even remember Metal-Mickey)

Only started to build shack inside so that's why its empty. My shack normally out portable on a hill etc .

Antennas issues ruined 80m for me but can try 40 depending how good inter G the band is on the day
