Not quite, Stephen. The notch on the coarse clarifier is a real nuisance on SSB, being not quite on frequency in the centre position makes it impossible to stay on frequency.

I do have a couple of ideas for a fix, though :chef:

Hi John a good rig doc could sort that James the shack sets all these up to bang on freq is right in the middle,
but I suppose if the clarifier is unlocked you would not need that notch , still the older radios, do it for me. :pirate2:

I have one and also have the issue of the notch but I am keeping my one in its box so no real issue for me.

The first thing i do is take the notch out, its easy to do, take the covers off then the buttons pull the facia off, undo the retaing nut on the course knob then it will be free from the rig, bend the 4 retaining lugs back then you can tacke the "v" clip out the re assemble, job done no more slipping into the notch...

Thanks Paul :) I was going to either de-tune it or make the fine adjustment track on TX. Your way sounds like the way to go, but I still might mod the fine clarifier as well, if possible.

Nice looking radio, although I prefer the older Dirland ones with the notch in place.
