Try to get a shift swap.
That was how I did it to clear Wednesday evenings when I was studying for the RAE (1979/80)

Holiday or shift swap. Worst case find somewhere doing it on days you are off!

I am in the same boat, I work most weekends and my employer expects me to book my leave over a year in advance !!!
to make matters worse, I am in Northern Ireland and have emailed every amateur radio club in the country asking about the foundation course, my local club has the exam next month, the only one in 2018, but says all the places are taken, ALL of the other clubs in the whole country that do exams are not planning to host ANY foundation course in 2018.
So its going to be next to impossible for me to become legit and get going in this hobby....no wonder its in decline here...

If anyone knows any way of doing the course this year in N.I. please PM me

I had the same problem, I just read the book and hammerd hamtests.co.uk and when i could attend the club I did the practical parts.
once I thought I was ready I then boobked my test for when I could fit it in.

Good luck
