We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

In Frequency mode (Press VFO/MR) type in the frequency to be saved.

Then press MENU +27 then MENU again, then use up/down keys to navigate to the desired memory slot. Once at the desired slot press MENU again to save then EXIT.

Press VFO/MR to access Channel mode and up/down keys to move through saved channels.

You would need those for programming repeaters, they are not needed for simplex stations (is my understanding)

Hi I'm like you had the uv5 for a couple of weeks now
Best thing I've done is change the antenna from the the stock one to the ones off amazon.they are the luiton and are 14 for a pair
I get about 2.5 miles in a built up area and line of sight I've made contact at 4.5 miles with no sign of fade or scratch

Hi

For easier programming buy a cable from amazon and use chirp software. Check out youtube for instructions, plenty of help there.
