Now I've finally moved and settled, I've got my ham gear set back up but I've failed to keep my licence up to date!
Something I had no idea I had to do, I've just been on ofcom site to find no licence is held against my name, so I guess it's been revoked!

DOH!

Ive heard of alot of people that did this, they contacted Ofcom and they reinstated it. I have read some amateurs have had to pay £20 others said it just got reinstated. I also thought they had done away with the need to re register now and that a license was for life

Apparently every five years you have to do this thing, I'm trying to find the correct forms to fill in and my original certificate.

I may have to resit the exam, god forbid that means finding the local club eeeeeek

Page 6 of this months practical wireless.
" The FAQ page states, " Licences are valid indefintely, unless surrendered by the licensee or revoked by Ofcom. It is the responsibility of the licensee to confirm to us that your details (name, address and so on) remain valid "
I'm sure they will sort it out over the phone.

Tony is correct Nik, I e-mailed Ofcom a while back for clarification now that the 're-validate' button has gone. The reply stated that yes, you do still need to re-validate every 5 years, but it's now done automatically just by logging on and checking your details.

Hi. Simon
Sorry to here about Ham Licence. If you do need to go to a Club, there is a good one @ Shepton Mallet called
