So I, along with a couple of pals, sat and passed the intermediate exam last night. Yaaay

Now it is just a case of waiting for the official result and getting the new callsign organised.

I was just wondering though what everyone does about changing callsigns when it comes to log book programs and online logs such as QRZ, HRDlog, eQsl, and the like? I seem to think that simply changing your callsign might lead to complications as the resulting log would be a mixture of entries from two different callsigns and could get messy. Or maybe you can 'add' a callsign to your account and run both if desired?

I haven't given it much thought til now incase I was tempting fate! I'll have a trawl through the sites mentioned to see if there are any answers there but thought I'd ask here too and see what everyone else did!

QRZ = Easy, as you can just add your new callsign and be callsign manager for it.
Also put an note on the old page saying for M6XXX see 2EoXXX
You can manage several callsigns on QRZ.com

eQSl, = You account is callsign and I do not believe yo ucan change it. So unfortunately it means creating another account>
But you would have to create anew card anyway I guess?

I don't use HRDlog., but I believe the same principle as Clublog> Again, the callsign is the account.
You can change the callsign within HRD to something like a special event callsign, but I'm not sure you would want to do that for your own 2E0 every time.

I have couple of mates who have progressed from M6 to 2E0 and they have basically got their 'old log' for all the stations worked on M6 and the 'new log' for everything worked on their new callsign, and of course it makes managing QSL's much easier too.

Congratulation on the passing your intermediate. Great effort.

LoTW allows you to link callsigns under one account.

Remember that if you run both callsigns and ident with your M6 that you must abide by the restrictions of the M6 callsign in regards to power and frequencies you can use.

Thanks all for the kind wishes and for all the helpful info. :)

Yes, I'm looking forward to the new callsign for sure and already have the 'Advance' book to hand ready for the next stage! It's a fair step up in learning for it but possibly not as big a leap as it is from foundation to intermediate. Anyhow I'll just have to see how it goes. ;)

I think I've notched up around 100 DXCC with the MM6 call so far, even with my sparse appearances on the bands, so it will be good to continue adding some more when the new licence becomes active. This was my concern- that I would have to start all over again from zero but it looks like I can add the new call to most of the log sites I use judging by the answers here and what I've read on QRZ etc. All good! :thumb:

Cheers again guys,

Paul.
