Hello! my name is Trond and live in the north part of Norway. I am fairly new to 11 meter and dx and in general and in the progress of making som knowledge in the subject. So far there has been some local chat and a little skip. There is a lot of noise (qrm) around my qth so that is an issue yet unsolved. Mobile operation from remote and high locations seems to be the best option. My radio is an old superstar 3600 (modified) and a home made two element moxon beam and a really long sirio antenna on the car. I like to build and test different antenna designs. If possible I would like to have callsign 20CT059 . |

Hi Trond! Height - hills, mountains - is what we all need, as chances of skip are very small right now. Here on the south coast of England, some of the other CT SSB stations can here me calling, but I can not hear them at all, so will have to move my antenna onto a hill top if I am going to have a 2-way conversation. 27 MHz is very quiet now. Good to have you with us, Walrus. |

Hi Trond, Welcome to CT DX group. I have issued you the requested call-sign : 20CT059, good luck. 11m is nearing the low point in the solar cycle now, so it may not be very good for propagation for the next 3 years, but it will rise again and hopefully the next cycle will be much better than the last ![]() Nik |

Thank you so much all of you guys for the warm welcomes and comments! It is really appreciated. Friendly and nice people here in Charlie Tango! Regarding the solar cycle, Nik: From a certain point of view that may not be all bad. It could be an opportunity to build and experiment with antennas and have the best one ready when conditions improve! |
