Hi Everyone I have been a Radio Enthusiast for more than forty years and hold the Callsign G8YJT. I Operate on all bands from 136Khz to 500Mhz from the home QTH. I am a keen portable operator and a founding member of the Dangerous DX Club. I have a wide variety of Radios and extensive outdoor kit which is used in SSB contests from various hilltops all year round. I came 9th in the Practical Wireless QRP 2 metre contest last year using only very basic and lightweight kit. I was interested in CB and Freeband in the early 1980s but now that its calmed down a bit, I am anxious to chase DX or just have a chat on what is for me a new band. I would therefore like to apply for a callsign to participate in all of this...ideally I would like a callsign with 516 in it. I happy to arrange contacts with any members or groups particularly the CTX crew whose videos are great. I have operated from most high points in the UK and also from locations in Canaada America Alaska and in Europe. Sincere best wishes to you all Colin J. G8YJT

Hi Everyone Thanks for the best wishes and the callsign. I hope to drop in on some of the nets in the weeks ahead and have some fun. I shall be QRV CTX style from Haytor in Devon on Weds 1st March for the midweek net and that is firmly in the diary. This is a favourite location from our second QTH. I shall monitor UK Ch38 when on my perch for the 2 and 6 metre contests held on the first Tuesday and fourth Tuesday of each month. The locator for this is IO92EN and the rare square of WAB SP 39. I thank you all for your best wishes especially Johnno Gary Nik and Geoff, and it was nice to get a lookup from Canada as I lived in Chilliwack 80k East of Vancouver for some time with my VE7 call. |
