Power Mic wiring help needed.

Hi Guys

I purchased an immaculate 40 channel Harrier HQ CB (Homebase 40 channel 27/81), a cherished and un-molested example with original Harrier coffin mic.

I tried it on air and all is well other then the original mic was very quiet so I purchased a K-PO NM-532 power mic.

I needed to put a 4 pin plug on it so made a note of the coloured wires and pins on the Harrier mic, unfortunately on the k-po a Blue wire exists (Thought it may have replaced the black one on the Harrier), but after many, many evenings of searching the web, trying to interpret on line diagrams and make any sense of which way around were the plugs being shown I have still not yet got the wiring right!!!!!

Can any one please help, could in very simple terms tell me which wires go on what pins. I have achieved receive, transmit but never together.

Defies my logic as I am not an electronics wiz but getting good at soldering and de-soldering.
Thanks in advance.
Steve

Hello,

please try this, the no. 1 - 4 you find on the plug:

1 = Audio / Red
2 = Ground / Common
3 = Receive / Blue
4 = Transmit / Withe

Thank you guys, Good information. I will try that out this week. It should be simple but obviously I have been doing something fundamentally wrong!

The Thunderpole site is good but I could not work out the colour scheme with the KPO mic as it was different and did not say what was what.
Wave-Hunter: Fingers crossed looks like a plan I am looking forward to trying it. Just what I needed in clear layout thank you.
Cheers All
Steve

Wave-Hunter: Many many thanks, your wiring suggestion was spot on.

I got in tonight after work, flashed up the soldering iron and followed your solution.

Works a treat.

I now have a 35 year old home base back up and running with improved audio.

Regards
Steve
