So...im new to this cb stuff. Its awsome and i love it BUT....i have been using a multiband cb 40ch on the uk band and have had no problems at all.
Then i picked up a ss6900n and thats when it all went to crap...it took me 3hours and 3/4 youtube vids just to figger out how to put it in 11m just so i could use cb channels then another 2 hours of calling shouting and swering to figger out it needed to be in band E,
then MANY hours and a google search to sus the channel's out, but persistence paid off and i now have it working full NOW how do i figger the channels and bands for dxing calling stations, joining nets and that sort of thing ? Many thanks for your help lads and lasses

sounds like you need the radio programming up, did it come with a usb lead?

if not maybe someone on here close to you with one would be able to put you right and program the frequencies in

:hi:
First thing to be aware of with an export radio is the legal channels to use, which are 27.60125 > 27.99125 FM (only) known as the UKFM and the mid block which goes from 27.965 > 27.405 and you can use AM/FM/LSB or USB on these frequencies at 4watts am/fm and 12w pep ssb.
Theres also the freeband frequencies which are NOT legal to use, but the main section in use go from 27.415 upto 27.600 and generally only either USB or LSB( and higher but most stay in this section to avoid interferance with ukfm users). On the freeband its more like amatuer radio without the CB slang but with a calling channel of 27.555usb.
On the mid block 27.315FM is the European calling channel and good contacts can be made of here in the Summer months. 27.385LSB is the International call channel and often in the Winter months USA etc can be worked, our own calling channel on the mid block is 27.275 which is also used by South Africa and at times surprising outside Europe contacts can be made from here.
Hope that helps in some wsy
