TBH I can't see that there is any new stations coming on to some of these nets, unless there a local station so other than that they must be just talking to the same lot each week

Well BIG disapointment for me in the Northwest, spent four hours between four frequencys makeing calls and for nothing... In the start i could barely hear somebody on USB and a very very faint voice on AM. must be in a "R.D.Z" - Radio Dead Zone.

Do i have to move mid country?

And i wouldnt mind i am 59.526 m / 195.294 feet above sea level.

Radio is so dead around my way in a very built up busy area of North London, even the Muppets that go on the UK40 haven't been heard, all I hear now is just noise from everything that interferes with radio from +4 to +10dB constantly and thats acrss all the bands and frequencies so most of the time it's pointless putting the radio on

TBH Steve I think people like me who live inner city and very buit up areas are knackered for radio now , we have too much interference from you name it we have it now it's not how it was back in the old days, so you ops who live away from the built areas enjoy it while you can incase it the interference gets you lot

Myself and another local CT in Hedge End came on air, we heard no one else so we stayed on channel and chatted, then realised Syd and friends were in Swindon up on the hills (70 ish miles away) and we were causing interference to it so heard Syd, gave him a shout, apologised as we had never heard anyone till them and moved down a few channels as we could not hear anyone else on the net from here in deep South. and we moved a few channel down.

We looked on the AM and SSB channels but all quiet other than the local to us Ch 38 net that evening.

Still I gave out a few 35th birthday wishes to CB in case anyone was listening.

Nothing my way other than our local taxi mates. CB radio is dead now unless the skip is flowing such a shame yet cb radios are still being bought and holding their prices on ebay, very strange must just be us older guys buying and saving them in our collections.

Can't see why people don't use just normal AM /FM or even UKFM Muppets for just local chitchat TBH like we use to, SSB ain't the beginning and all in CB radio

It was the same over here in south London, I made just five contacts all evening, two on the 35 for the big net 2 on ssb which I think were just normal MWN's and one on the mids 28. No AM at all despite calling out, all in all a poor turn out. I do wonder where all these radios being sold are going ? perhaps people fire them up hear nothing then put them away, also there have been plenty of new call sign requests in London over the last year you would expect to hear a few of them it's a shame really.

What’s needed is another big film to hit the screens like Convoy as many people are not aware what CB radio is all about. Other than that just make it illegal again and the Press & TV coverage will start a revival.

I think the extent of QRM now affecting home base set ups on 27mhz is killing off the hobby slowly. People have less time these days to go static mobile too - pace of life and all that.

If they did make a new film with CB being used in it , it should be 100% a British based film and none of the American jargon used plus not a film ie: like Smokey and the Bandit style which makes CBER'S look like wannabe good old boys and a total joke which a lot of none CB people think we are TBH, it needs to be a bit serious really so CB can be taken more serious

Hi Martin I no longer live at my old qth and have moved to a few miles up the road and radio at home is a total no go.
loads of qrm and plt noise 9+,so I am totally mobile /static and use my local hilltops tops for the nets and dx.
I always use my little magnum 257 and thunderpole scarlet warrior antenna it was this setup I was hearing the net on.
I was calling you today around your qth I was mobile on the uk's not a lot happening thou.

I fired up the old ss360 which has been in the loft for a while, spent half an hour setting it up in the shack to hear absolutely nothing anywhere even with signal zero of noise here..
Even ch19 ukfm was dead as it has been for a while now (well when i switch on)

Think cb has had its revival and now its on its way out again here in the south east...even though there are over 6000 worldwide registered ct members ;)
