My Grant 2 Premium from Radiozing gives out 18 watts FM / 10 watts AM / Approx 20 watts SSB using a 1/4 wave Supernova antenna with SWR between 1:1.3 and 1:1.5 depending on band / frequency.

Edit.I forgot to mention.....the above figures are from my Redot digital power / SWR meter which is usually very accurate.

The original Grant 2 remained at 4w AM/FM and 12w SSB in expanded mode.. So does the "Premium" up the power as well when it's expanded to make use of that additional heat sink??

Just looked a the Nevada site and they list the same power out for the premium and the "export" premium... Also noticed they charge £10 extra for the "export" "£10 for just cutting a wire????

My research suggests that the latest LOW NOISE version ( 2 instead of 9 what ever that means) and the ability to open up the radio for Euro freqs WITHOUT losing the UK ones, or having to add a extra switch points to the Grant 2 PREMIUM latest firmwear model with the big F O heatsink on the back.

I wish there was a CB club in the NE where I could talk man o man with experts.

And getting the radio out of stock taking it out the box, taking the lid off, doing the mod, putting the lid back on, repacking it so it looks like it did when the box was first opened. Oh and guaranteeing a radio that has been opened up and the manufacturers seal broken.

All in all from starting with no radio to having it repacked ready to go you're looking around 15-20 minutes.

I've bought one of these an the F button is confusing me. When I press it I get the letters mentioned in the first post but what difference do they make?

Struggling to get my old head round this.

The letters are the bands ("bands" are groups of frequencies)....keep pressing the "F" button to cycle through them.

Band A: 26.965mhz - 27.405mhz
Band B: 27.415mhz - 27.855 mhz
Band C: 26.515mhz - 26.955mhz
Band D: 27.865mhz - 28.305mhz
Band E: 26.065mhz - 26.505mhz
Band F: 28.315mhz - 28.755mhz
Band G: 25.615mhz - 26.055mhz
Band H: 28.765mhz - 29.205mhz
Band I: 29.215mhz - 29.655mhz
Band J: 29.665mhz - 30.105mhz

If you repeatedly press the mode button (AM/FM/USB/LSB) a few times you will get Band U which is the UK "muppets" frequencies.

Thanks for that.
I'm thinking that I might have that has too much background noise. On uk fm it's always signal 7 that said the midland I have is almost the same.
