We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

Very active here, Derbyshire Notts area, i use it every day, mostly 2m simplex, i use 2m ssb too, so i think its dependant on your location, i tend to keep away from repeaters , abuse from the Baofeng bell ends, quite a few of us use 4m, great for quiet qso, very rare we get a lump head on 4m, people dont want to invest in it, the reason its not very active at times, try ssb 2m, some good distance to be had, :thumb:

Cambs area gets some use.

I may be one of the culprits that is part of the 2 mtr demise.

I got an M6 and went straight to HF, got 2E0 and then M0 and still active on HF.
The only time I go onto 2 mtr is for weekend contests, I just don't find the local chat interesting, do not use anything mobile for repeaters.

Even the distance on a good day does not compare with the HF.

I guess it is the way of the licence these days, no need to use VHF unless you want to.
Designing and building even bigger Antennas. Hoping for some good DX, waiting for solar minimums to fade away.

2m repeater GB3MP in North Wales has a net in the mornings but is subject to IQ0's keying their mics. We have contests on ssb every other week and local ragchews on simplex most days.

Lots of activity in West/South Yorkshire but East Yorks is quite dead thanks to being surrounded on 3 sides by hills and a mike keying tosser who wipes out anyone trying to use the band or GB3HS.

GB3FC is the only analogue repeater around my way that gets used. Everyone else is messing around with DSTAR.
CB, 11 Metres, Ham Radio... it's all radio, so stop fighting about it.
