Be interesting to see if you still have the noise if you use an antenna low down like a antenna on a car. Somtimes when you have these half wave antennas high up you can pick up noise from further away but think its on your doorstep

My Grant 2 Premium used to do this when I was using a switched-mode power supply (this type of power supply has a reputation for being noisy which I didn't know about when I bought it). I tried connecting the radio to my 12v / 22amp lithium-polymer battery which I use when portable to see if it improved things.....result, zero noise :-)

Considering some of these WiFi Hubs(just one of many causes of interference) can give out interference 100 yards in any direction from where its situated think of how many in you area you live, plus as been said plasma T.V's , another thing, plus numerous other things that TBH I cant be bothered to type about all as I would be here all day typing lol , you will just have to put it down to the modern technology that we have now that interferes with our hobby that did'nt 40 odd year ago when I first was on CB best thing is live in the middle of nowhere where there is no tech about or live with it really not a lot ya can do

Life is too short, so ave a laugh now n then never know you might like it

Is there anyone nearby that could pop around and try a different radio on your setup?

The Grant 2 is well known for picking up noise from everything. I have had two of them, and they always picked up much more noise than my old school sets.
