Just a heads up that The Big Multimode Nets will take place on Monday 27th June 2016 to celebrate 2 years of legal AM and SSB in the UK.

Following the ECBF reporting a possible threat to the CB radio allocation, it is more important than ever to show that CB is being used so please encourage as many stations as possible to take part in this event.

Quiet up here, just a few locals on, but still good chat.

I hear there was some sort of sporting event on tonight....

Was it worth missing the radio for? 😂

I hope it was a successful evening for everyone that took part. :)

I had a bit of a disaster. First of all I forgot the antenna :censor: , then when I finally got set-up the radio wouldn't transmit. :headbang:

On the plus side I swl'd a few stations calling on Ch14 and quite a few on Ch27. There was also a good little net going on, on Ch23 usb.

That would have been us then John! Well it was a leisurely little net tonight and to be fair not bad at all when you consider 22 overpaid prima donna's where kicking a bag of wind round somewhere on the continent. We finished up with 17 in the log including York, Shepton Mallet, and Norfolk and all concerned had a damned good ragchew with someone throughout the evening. very enjoyable!

I must admit John I now have a small check list for going up the hill after I forgot the coax for the Antron one Wednesday evening last winter. shame your radio went tech mate it would have been nice to have a chat.

Hi Tom,

It was great listening to you, Martin and Joe. I heard you working some good distance. I heard you working a few CTers too: Al 163CT777 and Nik 26CT573. You were chatting to Phil 656 over at Congleton when I packed-up for the evening.

Hope to catch you on the MWN on Wednesday.

73s John.

Hi all,

I tried shouting out from Holgate in York quite late, around 9.30-9.45 on 27usb and 14AM, but couldn't hear any replies. I only barely could hear something, but couldn't really understand it, so not a great success for me yesterday unfortunately. But, being quite new in this game, I will not be disheartened by this and keep trying again.

Since I have listening capability there, I did listen a little bit on the "freeband" at 27.555 and 27.620 MHz and heard some conversations there on usb. On CB I sadly heard nigh to nothing in any mode.

The other weekend though, I actually heard some people coming in very clearly over from the west coast in Sweden on ch30usb so I am not going to give up ;)

Two of us up near cambridge sat on 29 for over an hour, i dropped to the calling channel and put out about the event and called a qsy and invite to join us. You can guess, there was at first two.
Then still after an hour there was two. We tried and done our bit.
