HI Jeff, sorry mate, my pockets aren't deep enough to come over and give you a lift back to Buxton. LOL

I have been playing on the Lap Top and come up with this design for the weekend. The boom length is 7.8 mtrs.

Also playing with a design for a 6 ele, 9.2 mtr boom on that one. not sure if it will be too big to play for a weekend at Buxton, it is a possability though.

I will be out this Saturday to build and test it

I might have Smudger with me for the day at the Caravan.

That is not the Yagi with 9mtr boom, that one is a mere 7.8 mtrs. I needed to put extensions on for the new one I built today, Sat 28th May.

Pictures will be posted very soon.

Yes Andy,
I know that was 'only' the 7.8m one, maybe my reply was not very clear :)

Hence I said 'A 9+ metre boom wow, definitely need supports lolol' ...... because that 'small' 7.8m one looks to be slightly bowing heheh, so an even longer one, blimey !!

Will you be bringing any of those nice looking VHF/UHF antennas with you? I'd love to have a play with those! How did the contest go up at brand Side?

HI Jake.

It is going to be for 11 mtr over the weekend, would need a week up there to play with all the antennas I use.

There may be a 2 element for 40 mtr for Friday and Sat night, can't guarantee that one just yet

If you are anywhere near Buxton the weekend before, I shall be up there with a pair of 7 elements stacked for 70mhz. there is a contest
on the Sunday and set up on the Saturday.

OMG not long now :) It seems so long ago since it was booked and now its only a few weeks away, so looking forward to it, meeting old friends and new, drinking beer, sitting in the sun talking crap! Good bbq - so I hear!
Next week will put up a "Whos coming" list to have an idea who is interested and so others can see who is going. I have a feeling its going to be another great weekend :)

If I get new sections sorted for the trailer tower in time, there will be a 6 element yagi going up for the weekend. OR. The sections have not arrived in time or it looks like being windy up there, a 5 element will be going up.
Not sure on which design either, OP DES, ( can be found on Innovative Antennas site ) or normal yagi, either way I have designs for both.

Guys, my gear is not there for show. Don't be afraid to ask, if you want to take the chair and operate for a while or chase a new personal DXCC you are more than welcome.

Andy

As AL says, good BBQ , good social and hopefully good weather.
