Delboy that was a good Rx, what antenna are you using to listen in on the ISS comm's?

I have tried a discone (with 2m Tx capability), hand-helds with 2m antennas but not getting them as strong or clear as you? I have heard some partial clear comms but from where I am (South UK) the signal appears to draw in interference as soon as I get a signal from the ISS.

I have tried tuning off each side of the freq to counter any doplar shift but it only brings in the interference stronger along with the signal, the interference stops as soon as I lose the ISS signal.

Yours is lovely and crisp, I only get a few seconds that clear on each pass so far.

Regards
Steve

I was getting poor results from my tri-band vertical so I made a 2m dipole out of stiff wire. I mount it at 45 degrees with the slope facing south on a short pole in the garden.

I've been getting much better results with this set up.

I actually find just listening on a handset in the garden with its standard antenna works better than my home base vertical.

The main point is that the receiving antenna shouldn't be vertical due to the signal coming from above!

...and of course don't forget that Tim is scheduled to contact Wellesley House School in Broadstairs Kent on Saturday 23rd April 2016 at 1210UTC (that’s 1310 BST/local time!)

Didn't hear much this pass... Just a weak few words :-( Interestingly according to the ISS app I use on my phone its the next pass at 14:53 that will be directly over head... It showed the 13:10 pass to be south of the UK. Guess it must be out of sync?

Nice video again Del, the ISS was definitely a little weaker today, even the official live stream was sounding very scratchy in places..

BTW, is your PSU running a little low @ 11.7v?
