Hi.

I am currently working on getting my antenna as high as I could. What options are available? Local antenna guy to fix it onto chimney, or T&K mount on the wall, and few meters of metal pole? T&K would be probably cheaper, I will never get on the roof myself, local aerial chap would charge me about £115 parts included.
Thanks in advance for any advice or example pictures

Problem with the chimney solution is the stress on the chimney in the wind and as you say, getting to it if there's a problem.

TK mount on the wall with a 21ft scaff pole is a good tried and tested solution. Always worth having a pole with a bit of flex in so it has some give and takes some of the stress off the base of the CB antenna in strong winds.

Height isn't that important for DX but is for local however if you've hills between where you are and where you want to get to, unless you can get clear line of sight over the hill then nothing is going to help.

Several other options :

A push-up mast (I had a 40 foot one from Radiozing).

Pump-up clark/scam mast.

A tower.

All a bit more expensive, and the good old aluminium pole is probably the easiest (still cheap but a lot lighter than a steel scaffold pole, also a lot more flexible so it bends in the wind - and stops your antenna taking the big hits from gusts).

Obviously, there may be restrictions on how high you can go above the roofline, best to look on your local council website for info.
You may also need planning permission if any mast is classed as 'permanent' ......
