When i was installing the sirio 4 element beam in the back garden, I was bloody shocked to say the least and the other half was going :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor: ballistic  at the size of the damn antenna on the ground not much room to maneuver,

Then the neighbours were havin a look as well, just as well a couple of days befor hand the council officer and environmental safety was round asking questions about my radios and if they were on apparently my radio's were wipeing out my neighbours satalite / dish (LMAO) so i invited them both in to inspect my equipment and explaind to them that i ONLY run 10w of power and that my radio's couldnt be the cause of the problem next door.

Anyway long story short were more than happy the the issues with his satalite had nothing to do with my radios and the council officer and environmental safety officer went away happy that i wasnt the cause of the problem.

When has local councils had any say about RF issues then, there is only one body aand that is Ofcom.
Planning permission for antennas is their business not TVI..........point them in the direction of the relevent body.

Hi Sam,

I'm pleased to see that you have found that the balun has helped things mate....

In my humble opinion this diagram sort of says it all regarding the benifits of installing a balun.
