Hi. I've got a nasty qrm problem, and it moves.Earlier today I had it on t5, but now it's moved. Moved outside to my shed to check everything out, switching power supply, cutting out long 213 run etc etc and it's now repeating every 0.070 MHz. Very very odd tbh as I've not experienced it before. I live around 400 meters from rail lines and I'm wondering if there using AC gen sets to power lighting and tools etc. Any ideas??. Doesn't sound like the plt interference I've heard on youtube. Thankyou. :thumb:

Try the radio on a battery first to rule out the electrics

I think his one it just sort of started the problem , I know he said he got it sorted by President under warranty, if yours does the same without the antenna connected it might worthwhile giving him a P.M and see what he done about his

Good luck mate

Well one test complete, it's not the grant. Flat line with plug removed. Getting a gamma one sent out tonite so I may try and RF gain it. My preamp works opposite and I can negative 30db it out, and if I switch to local it's nowhere on the scale. Will get the battery off the car tommorow and see how it looks.

Lol Nubster, there not up to much on these bands. Anyway Battery test complete and its still there. Video on the end of this is really clear now regarding they type of noise etc, and shows clearly how no filtering from the HAM 10 meter band is present. Managed to get onto ZIGGYS net tonight only by the good fortune he choose a channel unaffected. May need to build a small direction finding Antenna for this so I can RF GAIN it down. Anyway Heres the video :thumb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwwYl9nHxSg

Phil its strange that its still up in the Ham bands cos there normally looked after and filtered more than the CB bands , be really interested if you do find out where its coming from cos as it on the Ham bands it gotta be something strong , Phil are you licence ham by any chance ? cos if you are you could actully get Ofcom to investigate it as it goes in to the Ham bands just dont mention CB to them or they wont be interested LOL

Nope not yet lol. Over 28 my set magically changes into a scanner. I just sit and take note tbh. I know right from wrong lol, have a moral compass and tbh hardly ever hear anything. May be forced into it now though.

Setting the car up mark to RF using the preamp in negative mode. Failing that I'll knock a loop up and find them that way. I'm not known locally for takING things lying down bud :thumb:

Very odd this. It's gone. Cannot work this out. 9nly plausible explanation is the railway maintainence crew (which I noted were missing on there carpark) are not working. Very strange

I've had heavy qrm on uk40 and midband tonight on most channels. The needle was flickering constantly between 7 and 30+ making them pretty much unusable. A mate half a mile away wasn't getting it so it must have been something very close by. He did however have the same problem a few nights ago at his place.

My home town bud has one of the largest transformer testing rigs ever built situated in it and it must produce some rf lol. On a night you can see arcing coming from the place. Roads are closed and lamp post lifted out when these things are moved by road. Massive!!. Must take its toll on radio.
