Charlie Tango DX is a group dedicated to Hobby Radio Users in all forms, whether CB, Amateur, PMR446, Scanning and Short Wave Listening.
We are a very active and friendly group that welcomes anyone from anywhere in the world who has an interest in Radio, regardless of their level of experience, their equipment, their location, or their radio preference. We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

Is it expensive to replace the lights that light up the display on a CB? I'm sure my AE7500 is missing some colours, it does blue red and a purple colour, but no yellow or green.

what happens when you select them, there is no backlight at all or it stays on the last colour selected?

Either of those situations if its supposed to be a 4 colour one suggests a fault beyond merely changing LEDs.

I'm gonna ask a silly question here ,has it ever done all the colours you mentioned including the yellow & green , are you 100% sure its suppose to do those extra colours yellow & green cos if it did and its gone wrong TBH I would say yes they would be exspensive to repeair if its a new radio send it back under warrenty if it wasn't new and the radio works OK isit worth it for two colours

I recall it having a green light, but it doesn't have one now. The radio is probably still under warranty, but I wouldn't like to send it off as it may come back though the post more damaged than it is now. If I had bought it local it may have been a different matter, but it came from Germany I think. If I send it off I might never see it again.
