Hi All Ok I know im in the wrong place and the wrong website but I don't know where to start so I came here for advice Ok here goes, Do anyone know if its possible to transmit a tv signal from a laptop through airwaves to a tv. Reason being I organise rallys where 200+ people camp and i want to send info to them all from the laptop and with everyone having tvs in the campers / caravans I thought that would be a good way if they could see it on there tv. And before you say yes I am mad lol Any info would be great or point me in the right direction Thanks |

Hi there errm whoever you are (didn't fill out the three mandatory fields in your profile - Name/Location/Country), Welcome to CT DX group. It is 'possible' to transmit slow scan TV over radio waves, but you would need a licence to do this, which you would have to take/pass an exam to be an amateur radio operator. I don't know the full details of what is allowed as I do not use that part of the amateur radio hobby, and I don't think you would be allowed to transmit anywhere near the 'regular' commercial TV stations frequencies anyway. Maybe some more knowledgeable members will reply with more information I'm pretty sure you would need more than just a laptop however.Have you considered streaming video/audio using windows media encoder, that may be a lot easier and free.
