Was looking to fit a beep board to a rotel rvc 240 I wonder if any one would know which pin outs would be required and some help along the way. The board I seen on eBay is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400356391057?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT With appreciation. |

I seen the PDF for the pin outs I was looking for the information to fit this into a rotel 240 and in need to the internal wiring specifically help with the ones required to make that beep board work. It's just a nostalgic challenge

Same old problem, board made tiny and no way to mount it nicely inside a radio, anyway, that's just a gripe. From a quick read of the service manual and the diagram for the beep I reckon: Solder a wire from Pin 1 of the Mic socket to the Tone output on the beep board. Remove the wire from pin 4 on the Mic socket and solder it to PTT Out on the beep. Connect a wire from PTT In on the beep board to Pin 4 on the Mic socket. Add a wire from GND on the beep board to pin 2 on the Mic socket. Connect +9-15V on beep board to Post 20 on the radio main board (it's between the right angle heatsink for the audio IC and the screening can/heatsink for the output at the back of the radio, I've got a diagram with it highlighted but the site won't let me upload it, if you look at the service manual on CBTricks it shows the board layout in there too. Check your work for shorts, loose wires, bad connections etc before you put power on the radio. Make sure the beep board isn't touching anything inside the radio, test it works. Insulate it properly. Have fun. Edited by cjay, Thursday, 6. August 2015, 10:10.
