Hi all

I purchased a Harrier cbx the other week from flee-bay, the usual spares and repair sale. The radio is in absoloute mint condition on the outside and never been opened with security seals on both sides and came in its original box. Unfortunately, it has no audio on transmit and receive. Everything lighs up when switched on, signal meter works fine and transmits ok with a good 4watts into my power meter but no audio. I have used my handheld to see if it tx/rx which it does. I am in hope of getting the radio going but in need of some guidance where to start looking. I have a multimeter, cermaic screwdrivers and I am confident with the soldering iron. I have been trying to find a schematic layout and to get some inside knowledge about the ptmb134aox board before touching anything with a screwdiver and hammer !

I have

checked the internal speaker
external speaker socket
pa socket
tried 3 different microphones (cybernet wired)

Very likely that the audio chip will have popped.

10 minute job if you're confident with a soldering iron and have the replacement to hand.

If I remember correctly it's a Toshiba TA7205AP
G1ZIGLand Rover Discovery
Alinco DX-70TH - Sirio 4000 Hi-Power mobile antenna

I have replaced the audio chip which came today and fitted the item very carefully. Took me an hour start to finish. I still have no audio !! Could it be a diode or something like that ?
