Hey there fellow CTers,
I have a twin set of Binatone terrain 550's and seem to remember that you can press a sequence of buttons to "unlock" channel 9, trouble is I have forgotten the button sequence so if anyone can share the secret it would be appreciated! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Thanks in advance
Shane

Well...I've done a bit of digging and found it......so, if you hold both up and down, then power up the binatone 550, when it comes on it displays ch09.
And from the info I have read apparently it tx and rx on 447.005?
Does this work on other pmr radios?
A handy little frequency to use for hilltopping if you want to avoid all the shops and kids etc!... :cloak: :cb:
Hope this is of use to anyone,
Cheers
Shane.

Will try again once they are charged up but had a quick try doing the above button sequence press on my own set off 550`s but nothing happened ??!!

P.S Tried a quick google search on this very subject but apart from it coming up with the link to this thread could find nothing relating to the 550`s, the secret channel mod was mentioned for the 950 / 1000 models ?? anyone confirm it works on the 550 ?

Thanks everyone for your replies, I must have a different version of the 550 as the button sequence seems to work on mine?..and it transmits on 447.005 ( i tested it on my baofeng ) my 550 doesn't have the clock on the display like some do, so I may have a variant??
