Welcome to the official Charlie Tango DX Group CB And Amateur Radio Forum. You are visiting the UK's biggest and most active CB Radio club.. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Charlie Tango DX is a group dedicated to Hobby Radio Users in all forms, whether CB, Amateur, PMR446, Scanning and Short Wave Listening.
We are a very active and friendly group that welcomes anyone from anywhere in the world who has an interest in Radio, regardless of their level of experience, their equipment, their location, or their radio preference. We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

Hi all , heres abit about me and were my interest in cb and all things radio like come from ,,,,, 1979ish a friends of mine had a cb master am rig is his car and when he was'nt using it himself i used to spend hours on it in awe as such , if i wasnt in his car i was in his dads pub drinking , hearing the yanks and other far places on this little box was something that interested me .
A year later i managed to buy a Maxcom 4E am set and that was it i was off and running the only down point was my shack was a beaten up Hillman Imp and at the time i put the rig in my dads wreck of a car we had heavey snow and freezing tempertures for 2 weeks but i wasnt going to be beat by that i just put more clothes on .
Within a year a friend who lived up the road brought a Midland 2001 am and then a President AR144 which by then he had a shack [ his brothers pottery shed ] , with a homebase antenna Ringo made by commanti we were into serious stuff later he got a 4 ele beam , not to be out done i brought the Ringo off him and swopped my Rotel rvc240 for my first ssb radio a Lafayett 1200fm which i kept up to a couple of years ago [ i had her 30ish yrs] , i did use the fm legals but it was to manic and lacked what i first wanted out of cb were as ssb had .
Living on a farm in Sissinghurst way off the road was brill for having a very high antenna and when propagation was running those far off places i first heard when i started were only a CQ CQ away .
Later we moved house and the equipment apart from the Laffy was passed on , i got a job and cb was far from my mind as my interest was then bikes and cars [ i was 19/20 yrs old ] and of course girls , but other the years i slowly saved up got back on the radio in my car [Ford Cortina 2000e ] using the Laffy and that was it for years
I'm now married 2 boys live in Cranbrook Kent and work here to , i run a Kenwood TS570 homebase with a Antron A99 and President Lincoln with a Sirio magawatt 4000 mobile and the Rotel rvc240 [ i got it back ] , yet to get on to the HF foundation course due to my work but as and when i get time i will , i have introduce my eldest into using a legal fm set with hope he will find enjoyment out of it like i did when i first started , just recently we managed to speak to 104ET001 Roy in Corsica which for my son was brill [ manythanks Roy !!] , with it soon to legal to use mid block am ssb im looking forward to working the freqs without the urge to be carefull looking over my shoulder as to speak , i would like also to thank Hugo and Sam [ you know who i mean] for pointing me in the right direction and help as well thanks you two .
So thats me in a nut shell and i hope to catch some of you on the freqs at some point 73's 51's

Also in need of a charlie tango callsign ,,, many many thanks Dennis
