Is PMR general used much for general chatting?? With a variety of not just frequencies, but also bands & a number of good frequencies that can be used on a cheap ebay dual bander. It is a great set of frequencies for out & about chatting. Plus being a dead cheap licence, is ofcom going to bother about complaints, unless they suggest a static station & thus an easy solve?? And of course most users use CTCSS & know B all about radio, so they are probably never going to know what the problems are, even if it is a local base..lol Myself & a few friends have been using PMR general for a few years now & have had a couple of people join us during a chat, but it is not common. |
