Hello. I am new to the site and have not long got back into CB radio. I am also looking into getting my UK amateur radio licence as I find the radio communications hobby to be highly interesting. I have a fair understanding and knowledge of the radio systems from my grandfther, and from my own research.

I would be happy to meet others here, and if possible to be allocated a callsign so I can communicate, and be communicated with in an easier fashion.

Thanking you all in advance,

Owen (Geekdude).

Thanks guys.

I have been into the hobby on and off for about 10 to 15 years and currently i use a moonraker minor cb radio with sirio boomerang antenna. I am looking into getting more equipment over the coming months, along with my amateur licence for ham radio.

And I am looking to make new friends over the time as I spend a fair time housebound due to illness, so i am trying to get back into radio so I can be a little less bored yet make friends whilst housebound. :thumb:

I will be on soon as I need my radio and antenna adjusted before use. And in relation to red or blue, I am neither as I find football to be a waste of time.

also I still need tofind where I put my booksof notes from last time I used my gear.

Welcome Owen, I hate footy too...

May I say your boomerang antenna is a very good choice (live in a ground floor flat??) I live in a flat, and it's hard when you need to keep upstairs neighbors happy; I think that is the us version of neighbours as it's giving me a red line every time I spell it differently. Anyway I live on my own, get bored but have come to accept it's perfectly normal so do not worry about boredom too much.

Hope you make some good friendships on here, Robbie.

Yes Owen, my Mum was ill for many years and it's very often a battle, I do enjoy listening to Radio 4 for hours on end when I get into my "bored" mindset. I think it's amazing we live in a world with so much communication equipment in our everyday lives but feel isolated, I used to read a lot many moons ago but find it hard to concentrate as of late. Must make it a goal of mine to get my nose into a few books, I have enough around me that are begging to be picked up.
