Hi all. Wasn't quite sure where to put this, so ADMIN please feel free to move it to a more appropriate LOCSTAT. After my first CTX activation, I was trying to find an easy way of finding 'straight line' distances so I could record my contact distances. Without downloading Google Earth etc, I found this ..... Brilliantly easy, super simple and very very quick ... Simply type in where you are/where and where the other station said they were ... and BINGO ... 'crow flies' distance given. You even get a nice map to show you :-) http://tjpeiffer.com/crowflies.html Hope it helps. Matt CT6657 |

Hi Matt I think this is a good spot for the topic. A handy calculator indeed. To add to the topic, I use a similar device http://www.freemaptools.com/how-far-is-it-between.htm But it's whatever takes your fancy. Always nice seeing how well your doing. Just checked and got around a 870 mile contact on the new mobile setup today into Hungary. So at least thats working ![]() |
