Hi Maybe other members can help better, but a lot of people in the UK DX around CEPT Ch31 FM. We haven't got SSB legal yet here (July maybe this year) but there are of course people using it. There has been an unofficial internet vote for CEPT Ch27 on USB to be the future UK SSB calling frequency. And there's always Ch38 LSB when North America is not blasting though

Marcin, When you are on-air, it would be great if you could post in the shoutbox (at the bottom of the forum). This is like a chatroom, and you can arrange to try for contact on a frequency with others who are on the forum and using the shoutbox

Hello Marcin, As Dave has already stated, channel 31(FM) on the mid-block is a very popular calling frequency in Europe. I regularly monitor and call on that frequency in the summer months, when the shorter-prop is running. Hope to catch you on there. 73s John.

I have had some good short skip DX on the CEPT band. I got a few contacts into Germany on 4 watts FM with my loft mounted Inverted V last year. |

I actually heard some locals using ch 27 mid on SSB today talking about the channel being a new calling channel from July. So looks like word is getting around! I suggest that we all monitor ch27 for signs of SSB activity in the run up to legalisation, and maybe check out ch14 AM as well. |

As quoted by Radio Pixie it was a unofficial internet vote so dont take the the frequencys in a certain persons signiture as gospel truth, as no one has made them official

I don't think it will kill it off, after all those countries mostly have AM and SSB already. |

How would you suggest they are made official? There was a cross forum/radio website vote and the results were published. What more could we do to make the selected channels official? |

Delboy i aint got the time to argue with you cos there are more important things in life than worrying about radio breaking channels , but I will say this, when CB was first in this country back in AM days no one done a poll about what was what channel for calling on all we done was copy the yanks cos that was what all we knew about CB at that time and we didnt have one for when 27/81 came we just carried on as it was before , and TBH most proberly it would have carried on the same way when the new modes would have been made legal in July or when ever its gonna happen even if we didnt have your polls , if it makes you feel important having polls carry on but let others have a opintion please and stop force feeding these polls on every one thankyou |

The mid band is already like that when the skips in so a few extra AM/SSB signals won't make much difference! SSB on the mid band will be most useful for groundwave contacts when propagation is low. |
