Hi all I have today just taken delivery of the Baofeng UV-82L my first impressions are good as it fits nicely in my hand, so far so good, now I have tried downloading the software to enable to program it via the computer but the software seems reluctant to install properly, I shall give it another try this will be the 3rd time and see if I can get lucky. I am sending this out because I have got a feeling I am going to need some help with this. Also the battery is not a 3000 but a 1800 so I am a bit disappointed as it was advertised as a 3000. Hi all Following my previous post involving installing the software" Chirp" this time it was successful must be third time lucky, as a result I have ordered the usb lead ready for programming, then the fun really begins. I could not get the official software from Baofeng's site, instead I typed in Chirp and it went straight on, this might help others if they have the same problem as me. John |

Once you have CHIRP downloaded your next prossible problems may be with downloading the driver for the lead. A great source of info about all things Baofeng is this site: Click for LINK Also if you need futher help there are a number of Baofeng 'help' pages on Facebook. |

Hi Karen Glad you got both computer and the radio talking, as for the frequencies This might be of help to you, if you want the 446 frequencies just try " PMR446 frequencies" and get the lot, put them into the baofeng now all I have got to do is to find the way of calling them up, not been very successful at this time, so still not sure that the frequencies are where they should be. Not the easiest of radios to set up but I am sure once done all will be fine. Regards John Edited by Barney, Monday, 21. April 2014, 08:48.
