NDAWPM Sunday net channel change

After a discussion and review of the video of Tom mid way between our North Derbyshire and West Pennine moors net and the Southern net we've made the decision to move channel to ch 32 for the Sunday afternoon net.

We're quite a small net up here and tend to have a chat between ourselves, and clearly this is creating issues for operators in mid Wales and the Midlands and likewise we're having issues with those stations too if we have a more northerly contact in the net.

That's not to say we wouldn't welcome anyone in the south from coming in for a QSO with us, and the same goes for anyone up here who fancies trying to get in on the Southern net.

Perhaps one day if the need arises we can have another channel for some contacts between us in the North Derbyshire and the West Pennine moors net and those in the South West net.

As always nothing is set in stone, and I'm sure things will evolve as activity increases. It also won't be long before SSB becomes an option for the Sunday net in the future.

Lets hope the weather isn't too bad tomorrow for anyone venturing out portable.

Hi Stu, certainly makes sense to have them on different channels for the reason you mention.

If either the north or the south wish to try and call there is no problem! The original idea from what I can remember is that they would run on different channels so as to avoid everything you said in your post.

I cant make it out tomorrow but I will pass the info along when I am next on the net and I am sure anyone else will also!

Good luck to you boys up there, a nice little net coming together and hopefully it will prosper!

Edit: I have updated the Facebook to help keep people in the loop!

Sounds like a plan.
Last weekend I was kind of piggy in the middle so to speak, perched on the top of Ringinglow, looking over Hathersage and Casteleton, as I could obviously hear the Northern net, but also A lot more of the Southern net than I had anticipated !

With a little luck I'll catch you on 32 tomorrow then :)
I'm planning on being out up on the top of Hathersage again, hope the weather will be kind to the portable people, but I will be toasty warm in my Landrover :D

Good idea Stuart. :thumb:

Hope to be out tomorrow. There might be a few more on in the Buxton area, as some of the local hams are dusting off their old CBs and coming back on the legal cb-bands.
