We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

Christmas CB Nets 2013

CT Christmas CB Nets for this year :hohoho:

Boxing Day CT CB Net- 26th December 2013

1pm-2pm PMR446 Net - Ch8 (446.09375Mhz)

2pm-7pm CB Net - CH34 (UK FM 27.93125Mhz)

Sid CT141's Sunday DX Xmas Special - 29th December 2013

1pm-2pm PMR446 Net - Ch8 (446.09375Mhz)

2pm-4pm CB Net - CH34 (UK FM 27.93125Mhz) - (with possible late shift afterwards)

In previous years our Xmas CB Nets have been very popular with large numbers of CT Members participating - contrary to some comments posted elsewhere around the Internet, everyone is welcome to participate in our nets whether they are CT members or not - this has always been the case since our very first net back in 2010 and there are no plans to change that ethos :)

As always, we have no right to use any particular channel and have no control over Olga or other sources of QRM, so we will move around if channels are occupied or too noisy. We will endeavour to post updates via the CT Shoutbox, but if you don't hear us, please have a flick around the band. In addition, if the frequency becomes too busy on the day, we may adopt a Call-and-QSY approach or split the nets up into regions. It's CB, so nicely relaxed with minimal rules and no doubt all will come out in the wash on the day :thumb:

Times and frequencies may change, so please check this thread for updates (plus the CT Shoutbox on the day).

Maybe asking a lot of PMR Aleksandar, but I've managed Canada, Corsica, Italy, Germany and Greece on the UK 40, so if conditions are right you could make the trip no problem!

We often get a short blip of Sporadic E at this time of year and well as some Tropo lift, so anything is possible on the nets and well worth having a try :thumb:

Unless plans for today change, I'm going up Bodmin Moor to set up a portable station, so will try Ch34 UK. Will have PMR and definitely be monitoring 70.450 & 70.475 FM if anyone got 4mtrs.

I wonder where you were to Gary. I was using a 1/4w whip on the van and a ye olde Cybernet boarded Barracuda 940 plus an echo mic (with the echo turned down, well I hope it was turned down?).
