August Bank Holiday Net - Mon 26th

As previously announced, our CT Bank Holiday Nets are returning :)

Monday August 26th 2013

CT Southern Net - Ch32 UK FM 2pm-4pm

CT Northern Net - Ch34 UK FM 2pm-4pm

Spaced a couple of channels apart to prevent interference between the nets and allow those located in the middle to participate in both.

In the North Craig 483 will be using a CT Club Call and, in the South, I'll be out using a CTX Team Call - so some good ones for the log and, being high ground stations, a great opportunity to work some long groundwave and to link-up with fellow CT Members. No doubt we'll have other strong Ct and CTX stations out too, which should make for a nice active net.

As always, we also encourage and welcome participation from anyone - CT or non-CT :thumb:

Hope as many of you can join in as possible and we're hoping for quite an active weekend of radio, so perhaps contact a few mates and get a mini-meet going somewhere? - we'll help promote it if you do.

If anyone can get to a really good location and think they can do a good job for us, we can allocate a club callsign for the event - particularly looking at Scotland and Eastern England to help fill some gaps. We'll see who else offers their services as a CT Club Station and we'll announce the club callsigns after the weekend.

As always, radio is unpredictable and so is the weather, so plans and channels may change, but we will be trying our best to make the 26th a good one and any changes to the plans on the day will be relayed via the CT Shout Box.

Im going to be in scotland on holiday with the family. Perhaps I could join in this activation weekend. Ill be staying in Galloway, west of Dumfries in west Scotland. In Galloway Forest Park there are some good peaks of 700 - 800 - 900m. If you need an activation point in that area, I may be able to help you out. If you do, ill start prepping now. I would love to be part of this net :)

Looking promising :thumb:

If interest in the East develops further, it may be worth us running a CT Eastern Net on Ch36 say - we'll see how it shapes up ;)

Well i think ive found a good spot. Just north of Creetown where im staying on holiday, there is a nature reserve called Cairnsmore of Fleet National Nature Reserve. And there, there is a summit of 711m called Cairnsmore of Fleet. A beautiful spot but does require a 1.5 mile trek. But should be worth it :)

Look a great location Hugo - if you can make it up to somewhere like that, you can be 108CT/000 for the Net :thumb:

Sounds like a fair bit of interest brewing in the SE, so will be keeping an eye on progress there too :thumb:

Hello all,

I should be out in the usual location and if the weather is good, I'll put the Antron up.

Hopefully I'll be able to make contact with both nets.
