It is a typical Western Saloon.
Outside, the Sun bakes the wooden sidewalks and the occasional Tumbleweed blows past.

Inside, there's the long dark oak bar, polished by a thousand arms,
there's a round table with the inevitable card-players playing Poker
and, in the corner, the inevitable an old piano with a guy thumping out a tune.[imgw=600]http://z1.ifrm.com/2510/101/0/p1031383/pianomusic.gif[/imgw]

The bat-wing doors swing open with a creak and a cowboy ambles towards the bar.
His spurs clink as he walks, the leather of his low-slung holster creaks slightly with the weight of the Colt 45 it carries
and his fine Stetson hat scatters a fine cloud of trail-dust as he crosses the floorboards.

He reaches the bar and calls out,
  • "Say Barkeep, gimme two fingers of Red-Eye".

The bartender puts down the cloth with which he is polishing beer glasses, reaches for the cheap whiskey and pours the stranger a shot.

In one smooth motion, the cowboy downs the liquor, whips out his 45 and blows the left ear-lobe off the pianist.
With an equally rapid move, he blows the smoke from the muzzle of his weapon and slides it back into his holster.

The Piano player makes no move and the music continues[imgw=600]http://z1.ifrm.com/2510/101/0/p1031383/pianomusic.gif[/imgw]

  • "Say Barkeep, how d'ya like that shootin'?" asks the stranger.
  • "Well," replies the bartender, "that was mighty fine shootin' stranger. But happen you might find it easier if'n you file down the front sight of that there Colt and make the top o' the barrel flat."

Although apparently perplexed as to why, the cowboy takes the file the Barman offers, and does as suggested.
Then he holsters the weapon and calls out,
  • "Barkeep, gimme two fingers of Red-Eye".

The Bartender pours another shot of the cheap stuff and slides it along the bar to the Cowboy.

Even faster than before, the cowboy downs the liquor, whips out his 45 and blows the RIGHT ear-lobe off the pianist.
He again blows the smoke from the muzzle of his weapon and slides it back into his holster.

The Piano player makes no move and the music contrinues[imgw=600]http://z1.ifrm.com/2510/101/0/p1031383/pianomusic.gif[/imgw]

  • "So, how d'ya like that shootin'?" asks the stranger.
  • "Well," replied the bartender, "that sure was mighty fine shootin'. But happen you might find it easier if'n you round-off the ends of the barrel of that there Colt and make muzzle nice n' smooth."

Again somewhat perplexed as to why, the cowboy takes the file once more and does as the bartender suggests.
Then he holsters the weapon and once again calls out,
  • "Barkeep, gimme two fingers of Red-Eye".

The Bartender pours yet another shot of the cheap stuff and slides it along the bar to the Cowboy.

Like lightning, the cowboy downs the liquor, whips out his 45 and blows the Tip of the Nose off the pianist.
Once more he blows the smoke from the muzzle of his weapon and slides it back into his holster.

The Piano player makes no move and the music continues[imgw=600]http://z1.ifrm.com/2510/101/0/p1031383/pianomusic.gif[/imgw]

  • "So, howsabout that one?" asks the shooter.
  • "Well," replied the bartender, "that sure was mighty fine shootin'. But happen you might find it easier if'n you take that there Colt out to the kitchen and cover the barrel with a good layer o' Duck Grease."

  • "Now hold on thar one darn tootin' minute," says the cowboy,
  • "ah went along with the idea of mekkin' the gun faster to draw. But how in the name of tarnashun is a layer o' Duck Grease gonna mek it easier?"
  • "Well," replied the bartender, "when Wyatt Earp finishes playin' that Piano, he is gonna take that Colt off'n you and shove it right up your . . . . . . . . . . "
