I see from your profile you've a 5/8 wave Silver Rod - if that's the antenna you're looking to replace, then the Antron or Thunderpole will likely perform less well than what you presently have (they're 1/2 waves).

What the Antron and Thunderpole will give you is less visual impact than the Silver Rod (especially the Thunderpole) which is good if the neighbours are of the complaining type and will also be more resistant to wind damage.

An upgrade performance wise to your existing antenna would be an Imax 2000, Sirio Gain Master, Sirio 827 or a Sigma Mantova Turbo - they're all big twigs, and the first two in particular need to be up high to get the most out of them - the second two have a bunch of radials, so are especially noticeable and need a VERY strong mounting pole and brackets as they are heavy beasts indeed ;)

I'd like an antenna for both 10m & 11m and I've just read up on the Gain Master on Thunderpole's site. I have to say, it reads fantastic! The theory behind it is good too.

Will be shopping around for best prices on that one for the not too distant future perhaps.

I have a 1/2 wave Silver Rod and have managed a QSO in South Carolina a few days ago on my AT 5555. The proof is always in the pudding.
