Hi all, I need to buy some international reply coupons to include in a few QSLs, they used to not be a problem, all the post offices sold them, but now I keep getting told theyre obsolete and no longer used. How do the rest of you get on when asked by the event station's website for an IRC to be included?

It seems the norm to send 2 dollars now, it used to be 1 but has recently been decided that 1 did not cover costs any more. This is the main reason I very rarely qsl.

Cheers for that Al, there were a couple of special event activations that I wanted to get QSL'd recently and I ended up putting a 5 Euro note in, damnned expensive, I didn't think of Dollars! I work with a few of our trans-Atlantic cousins, so I'll have a word and see if they've got any notes knocking about! Thanks again.

If you ask at your Bank they'll (usually) be happy to get you any reasonable amount of $1 bills.

The Post Office website says, "You can buy the coupons from most large Post Office branches for just £1.60." (See http://www.royalmail.com/reply-sender )

I read on the Alfa Tango website that the "standard Contribution" is now 2 dollars as some countries do not accept IRC`s

I object to the whole idea of paying for QSL Cards... If I exchange cards with someone then I pay to have my card printed and to post it, and the other party does the same. Or maybe we shoud both send each other a couple of dollars?

UNLESS it is a Special Activation and for a Charitable Cause or something in which case I can understand that they might suddenly have a huge demand for hundreds of Cards. Or perhaps if someone is running a DXpedition and likely to have Rare Contact cards in demand.
But if you look at QRZ, there are quite a number of plain vanilla regular members that state, "2x IRC or $2 USA for QSL". . . that's just plain wrong.

Thanks for the replies guys, Dollars seen the way to go, I went to the local holiday money shop and was able to buy 10$ straight away for £7.80, so they're cheaper than IRCs anyway. Only wanted a few to QSL 145 / 350 and 128 Divs. :pirate:
