Hi just wondering if any 1 has a clue how to wier the Skipmaster 42000 for a superstar 3900 eft 4 pin . The mic is wierd for 4 pin as well . added photo and are they any good

Have a look at the CT Radio FAQ - http://www.dx11.org/ct/MicWiring.pdf . . . I believe the 3900 is "Fig.1" That will also tell you how to work out which wire is which out of the Mic. "Are they any good?" . . . Don't know about the "Skipmaster" specifically but that Mic appears in many many different Brand names. It is a good basic power base-mic. Just one warning though, DO NOT turn the Mic up to FULL and max the Mic Gain on the Radio too, or you'll over modulate something awful. I used a very similar Leson on a Harvard homebase and found the Mic at about 40% and the Radio MicGain at 50% was about right, but the only way to get it spot-on for your radio is with a good radio check or using a Mod Meter and headphones. |
