So I wanted a new toy. The 20+ year old zetagi power meter on my desk is a bit unreliable and it gives me "odd" results at times so I thought I'd splash a bit of money on a new toy.

So a proper PEP power monitor and a computerised SWR meter.

Now waiting for it to be shipped from the states :(

So... how inacurate is my old zetagi beast?

400w on the autek = ??? on the zetagi
100w on the rig = ??? on the autek and ??? on the zetagi

That meter and a Heil hand switch all for £100.
To put it in context the heil hand switch is £50 from any of the uk radio shops

Thanks ,
Looks a nice bit of kit. Not cheap, agreed, but not out of limits either.

You must let us know how it performs. I suppose thats the real test before price.
Good luck with it. Looks great.

Good luck

Well I'll do some side by side tests to check accuracy of them. I'll use "big red" to do the big power and I'll check the lower stuff with the rig.

I was thinking of 5w, 50w, 100w on the radio and then giving big red a chance to run at full bore and various other settings to check what levels meter A shows against meter B.

My 1 gallon dummy load should be getting a little bit warmer after the testing.

To be honest I'm betting that there isn't too much in it on FM but I've bought it for checking SSB power. the Zetagi one I've got at the moment makes no effort to work out pep power

Time will tell. I hope to have it within a week and when I do I'll be sure to get some vids up on pootube
