Was just looking at the Gizmotchy beams and I like the fact that if you buy the 3 ell and later decide you can go bigger, you can add to it. And OMG, I just looked at the extreme Gizmotchy beams, 10 elements, awesome. Al Oh just seen a 12 element one Edited by Kaosss, Monday, 7. November 2011, 23:31.

yep some nice stuff there.... ![]() I am after any tower/ mast really.... I need to get a different antenna arrangement going. I took everything down due to the roof being fixed.. However it has been months and the flipping roof is still not finished.. Thinking of re-locating to the back of the garden with a tower... Will make things easier in the future too.. Why? Have you got something for me? |

i wish mate!, i wish i had spare masts lying around probably lay my hands on a 40 foot scam mast but thats about it really been keeping my eyes out for a 21 or 24m mast but i think that mught be too much for the mrs, she hasnt noticed the scam at the bottom of the garden creeping higher yet hahah been looking at them myself but any permanent installation is totally out the question although a proper amlified shack has taken a step closer! |

Guys! GUYS!! I KNOW I have a reputation for reading "Smut" into Posts that were never inteded to be double-entendres, but for God's Sake, an opening like this is gagging for it: "My missus is not to bothered about the size so I am lucky.... " I've heard a lot of guys who wish their own wives were as kind as your lady, Toby. My XYL simply insists that mine isn't the first thing she notices when she is in the garden as she doesn't like the thought of it towering over her while on her knees Oooh errr . . . I think I'd better stop talking about AERIALS and GARDENING now.

Hi, this year with 11m propagation doing so well I decided to go for my first directional antenna to replace an Imax 2000, the imax is a very good antenna but it's hard to use on the very busy 555 as it pulls in everything from everywhere at once. Anyway I live in an apartment and do not want to put a large antenna up like a yagi, so after searching through countless websites the Maco and Gizmotchy range of small 11m antennas (I use the term small loosely!) seems a pretty good alternative in the absence of something like a PDL2 or the usual Sirio 3 or 4 element yagis. I was given an address of a distribution company in Netherlands for this range of antennas but it was working out quite expensive so I bit the bullet and ordered a Maco Y quad direct from the USA thinking it was going to be cheaper, unfortunately for me the price and postage quoted turned out to be too good to be true when they emailed to say the original courier firm would not ship the antenna but I could still get it if I payed another £100, taking that into account and the custom charges I would probably be hit with from the UK it was not going to be viable. Anyway to cut a longer story shorter I was totally unaware that the Maco and Gizmotchy antennas where available all the time here in the UK via Mr Toby himself at http://www.truckersnet.org.uk/index.asp so after talking to a few 2 Division stations in the states I made a last minute change to my original choice and ordered a Maco V Quad rather than the Y quad, both antennas seem to be held in high regard in the states as well as the Gizmotchy antennas which have been around since the 1960s I think. Anyway The antenna has been dispatched so I will look forward to receiving it and getting it installed soon, I will let you know how I get on and maybe get a few photos too when it arrives. I can recommend Toby at the truckers net shop for the Maco and Gizmotchy range of antennas and found him very helpful when I needed info about the range. Cheers |
