Charlie Tango DX is a group dedicated to Hobby Radio Users in all forms, whether CB, Amateur, PMR446, Scanning and Short Wave Listening.
We are a very active and friendly group that welcomes anyone from anywhere in the world who has an interest in Radio, regardless of their level of experience, their equipment, their location, or their radio preference. We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

If you join Charlie Tango you'll be able to access member-only sections, and use member-only features such as customizing your profile, sending personal messages, voting in polls, viewing modifications and more.

...they defintely weren't around when I was last on 11 metres. Mind you, Brezhnev was still in power and they probably didn't have many taxis anyway!

I know we are all blaming russian taxi's for the qrm, but somebody suggested to me the other day, that they still use am for phones over there, and it could well be phone signals too ?
No idea myself but it sounds plausable.....

not sure how taxi firms could use cb radios as they only use 1 channel and if other firms use the other channels then the drivers could listen in and take there jobs.

I can confirm taxis use cbs in turkey too, I've see it with my own eyes with all the whips tied back on the cars, so it can't be all the russian's fault for the qrm!

Or CB Radios :)
No taxis, no CBs, but lots and lots of large shot-putters called Olga (formerly Sergei...).

Was trying to put calls out on 26.285 earlier, and there was a huge amount of russian fm bleedover, +30db womans voice.
I decided to use google translate, and typed in 'move frequency', and listened back to how you should say it (in russian). It sounds like this : "chish dadat piddy mishinia" ... so I switched to fm and said it a few times, olga replied each time sounding more irate, so I just kept repeating it over and over, and guess what, 30 secs later frequency clear !!!!!

There was an open fax (not letter) sent to the Russian Agency asking them about all the illegal activity on 10m and the Director of the Agency replied now they will make more effort to Police the bands for illegal activity. I think the copy of the fax is on the dxcoffee website if anyone wants to look and see.

'Chis tota' 'nyeri moshinia' seems a bit closer.

chistota is frequency and moshinia is move but combining the words into a sentence seems to come out as chistota nyerimoshinia.

Maybe piddy mishinia translates as an insult or something stronger in which case I'll be using it as it seemed to annoy them and had the desired effect :thumb: lol.
