Charlie Tango DX is a group dedicated to Hobby Radio Users in all forms, whether CB, Amateur, PMR446, Scanning and Short Wave Listening.
We are a very active and friendly group that welcomes anyone from anywhere in the world who has an interest in Radio, regardless of their level of experience, their equipment, their location, or their radio preference. We have members varying from fully qualified operators on the Amateur Bands, to newcomers who have just bought a PMR446 set, and many CBers both old and new. All are equal on the Site.

The CT Site contains many reviews, tips and modifications within the forums, and we take pride that no sensible question is ever left unanswered, and nobody is ever belittled or mocked for asking an honest question, no matter how simple it may seem. We were all new to the hobby once.

I was thinking back to 1979 and 1980 when there were NO taxis in Russia :D but we did experience the radio phenomenon known as "Wall to Wall Spaghetti" on a daily basis.

One particular occasion I recall I was driving along the elevated M4 in West London and it really did seem that every single one of the forty (FCC AM) Channels were solid with high-speed Italian chatter. An English voice managed to break through and in an aggrieved tone he shouted, "Will you Eye-talian bathplugs just beggar-off home!".
Well it sounded like "Bathplugs" and "Beggar".
No matter how hard it was tried, nobody could get him to understand skip and the Italians' love of Burners, and he remainded convinced the entire forty channels were being hogged by the ex-Pat Italian community in London.

LOL steve ^^^

Im grateful for the legalisation of our FM channels. Without that mike keyers, music players, muppets, bucketmouths, and bleedover would have just been a figment of my imagination.
Some of the things we dislike about our FM, have provided me with some very amusing sources of entertainment in the past, it wouldnt have been the same without the above :)

Got some spare time today before work, and put some 80's equipment together. Shame I haven't got an old Altai or Sirtel echo mic or k-tone roger bleep to go with it. Give it some welly tonight!!

Didn't hear any CT stations tonight but got chatting to 4 local breakers. All 4 of them have just recently come back on after years of inactivity. They hinted that there are others on locally too so its all looking up here in North Ayrshire.

Now I need to convince the wife that CB in the living room next to the computer is a good idea :cb: :ermm: :headbang:
