Well done wayne, just back from my advanced course, out to work at 6.45, finish at 5, hours drive to course, a couple of hours there, then an hours drive home, decided tonight that we were't ready for the december exam so we're going for the jan31st one instead.
Are you going any further?

Thanks for all the praise guys,
I am having a 6 month break from the course and will be starting the full one next year around March or April and hope to have the full call sign about August or September, exam dates allowing that is, also bearing in mind I may need a longer time for the course. I am now sending off for the advanced license book from Amazon.

A big good luck to all who are studying atm remember read read read, also remember that the actual paper does not always ask the questions the same way as Ham Tests if you are also using the mock papers on there.

Well done Wayne! Big Congrats and I bet you feel well chuffed right now.

I know I felt pretty good about getting the Intermediate as it really was something that required a whole chunk of learning and effort with all the practical bits 'n pieces.

I'm not knocking the Foundation in any way and just sitting an exam Paper thirty plus years after leaving school is a whole stress and strain in itself, but as you have gone on to sit and pass the Intermediate you've put yourself into the minority group who have taken that extra step. Good on ya

 Steve, this exam has been on my mind and tbh when I sat down and John the tutor opened the envelope with the papers in I was shaking a little as was John the other trainee (the course was awkward as the tutors name and the other trainee was the same)
I have to say we could not have had a better tutor and he is very passionate about amateur radio and loves his morse code.

I am very happy and just waiting until I can put my candidate number in the Ofcom site on Thursday or Friday, I am more excited than when I was waiting for the Foundation call sign

Right, now you are in good mood, why not make a start on the Advanced?

Start reading the advanced book as soon as you get it. Try not to take it all in at once, but just keep reading small parts of it over and over and over and it will start to sink in (1 or 2 pages at a time). Anything you are unsure of then ask and also don't forget to google. Not everything is black and white in the Advanced book and a little further investigation is sometimes needed, which will help.

regards
